Pharmaceutical Projects

SEVA Engineering specializes in delivering design-build pharmaceutical facilities that streamline coordination, accelerate schedules, and reduce overall project cost. By integrating design, engineering, and construction under one unified team, we eliminate the common disconnects that occur between architects, engineers, and contractors, resulting in faster decision-making, fewer change orders, and a smoother project delivery process.

Cipla Pharmaceuticals, Fall River, Massachusetts, USA

For Cipla’s Metered Dose Inhalation Plant in Fall River, MA, we delivered comprehensive  architectural and MEP design services across a three-phase program encompassing warehouse upgrades, QC laboratory expansions, and a  specialized pilot-plant buildout— totaling  approximately 110,000 sq ft. Our scope included  detailed design of architectural layouts and fully  integrated HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems serving ISO-classified cleanrooms, manufacturing  suites, and all supporting environments. A key challenge of this facility was achieving full compliance.

Lupin Pharmaceuticals, Somerset, New Jersey, USA

We are providing comprehensive architectural and engineering design services to convert an existing building into a fully functional warehouse, R&D manufacturing facility, and administrative office environment. Our scope includes reconfiguring interior layouts to support new operational flows, designing upgraded HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems, and integrating process utilities required for manufacturing and research operations. A major focus of the project is the redesign and modernization of packaging rooms, where we are developing optimized environmental controls, air-handling strategies, and workflow-efficient layouts to meet current pharmaceutical standards. With careful attention to code compliance, system coordination, and constructability, our team is transforming the existing structure into a high-performance, multi-use facility aligned with Lupin’s production and research objectives.

Vie Saine Pharma, Georgia, USA

We provided full-scope services for Vie Saine Pharma’s 84,000 SF cGMP pharmaceutical facility, guiding the project from early planning and conceptual design through detailed execution and turnover. The design was carefully developed to support both current operations and long-term growth, integrating high-performance manufacturing environments with research, quality, warehousing, administrative, and support spaces. Our scope emphasized regulatory compliance, operational efficiency, and adaptability, ensuring the facility meets stringent pharmaceutical standards while remaining flexible for future process and equipment changes.
The final design program included cGMP manufacturing suites, R&D, analytical, and QC laboratories, secure DEA-compliant vault space, high-bay warehousing, and comprehensive utility and support infrastructure. Particular attention was given to material and personnel flow, clean/dirty segregation, environmental controls, and coordinated utility distribution for power, data, gases, and process systems. Administrative and collaboration spaces were seamlessly integrated to support operations and management. Through close owner collaboration and a fully integrated design–build approach, we delivered a cohesive, scalable facility that balances compliance, security, and efficient workflows—demonstrating our expertise in complex pharmaceutical facility design.

Sun Pharmaceuticals Industries Limited, Cranbury, New Jersey, USA

6,000 square foot of existing storage area of the building was to be converted into pharmaceutical manufacturing suite for processing and manufacturing of high potent drugs. The manufacturing suite included laboratory, multiple processing rooms, packaging rooms and other miscellaneous support rooms. The entire area was designed per Food and Drug Administration’s Current Good Manufacturing Practices.
Main feature of the design was to ensure zero cross contamination, environmentally safe discharge of exhaust air and wastewater, safety and protection of personnel.
A full HVAC design with strict design criteria for temperature, humidity, room pressurization, HEPA filtration, dust collection, air change rates and exhaust. Plumbing design included processing piping – steam, process hot water, process chilled water and compressed air - along with domestic water and sanitary system design. Related electrical and structural design was provided.

Also responsible for overall design for the project as a prime design engineer. Worked with architect, structural engineer, electrical engineer, and owner’s representative to ensure coordinated and complete design package for the project.

Aavis Pharmaceuticals, Hoschton, Georgia, USA

For Aavis Pharmaceuticals’ 80,000 sq ft solid-dosage manufacturing facility in Hoschton, GA, we provided full-scope design services spanning cleanroom environments, administrative areas, warehousing, and process-utility infrastructure. Our mechanical team performed HVAC load calculations, designed air-handling and zoning schemes suitable for ISO 7 and ISO 8 cleanroom classifications, and engineered process-piping and automation controls to support manufacturing operations. Plumbing system layouts—including piping, fixtures, and utility connections—were designed to integrate seamlessly with process and facility needs. Electrical design included complete power-distribution planning, panelboard layouts, and equipment feed coordination to ensure reliable and efficient operation. The result was a fully integrated, production-ready environment supporting stringent pharmaceutical manufacturing requirements.

Appco Pharmaceutical, Piscataway, New Jersey, USA

We provided design services for the conversion of an existing 28,000-square-foot warehouse into a pharmaceutical packaging facility, supporting the client’s manufacturing and operational needs. The project included the creation of GMP-compliant packaging areas, laboratories, pharmaceutical R&D suites, administrative offices, and a GMP warehouse for the storage of raw materials and finished products, all designed in accordance with regulatory and operational requirements.
Our role included mechanical engineering responsibility for HVAC and plumbing system design, as well as serving as design manager for the overall MEP scope. We coordinated multidisciplinary engineering efforts to ensure integrated, efficient, and compliant building systems, supporting reliable operations and successful execution through the design and construction phases.

InvaGen Cipla Pharmaceuticals, Islip, New York, USA

We provided full design solutions and construction management services for the expansion of Cipla’s solid dosage pharmaceutical manufacturing facility in Islip, New York. The approximately 16,000-square-foot project included architectural and engineering design from programming through construction documentation, with careful integration of cGMP-compliant spaces, cleanroom environments, and optimized material and personnel flow. The design supported equipment layout, process utilities, life safety, and regulatory requirements while allowing for future operational flexibility and growth.
Our construction management services encompassed pre-construction planning, budgeting, scheduling, and on-site coordination to ensure quality, schedule adherence, and minimal disruption to ongoing operations. We managed contractor activities, reviewed submittals and RFIs, coordinated with vendors and regulatory stakeholders, and supported project close-out, delivering a compliant, efficient solid dosage expansion aligned with Cipla’s production and quality objectives.

US Pharma Labs, North Brunswick, New Jersey, USA

We provided comprehensive design solutions for multiple projects at US Pharma’s facility, supporting upgrades and specialized process requirements across the site. The scope included retrofit of existing packaging rooms, design of warehouse temperature control systems, microlab design incorporating low-humidity environments, and fluid bed dryer (FBD) system design. Each project was developed to align with operational needs, regulatory requirements, and pharmaceutical industry standards.
Our services encompassed full multidisciplinary design, including architectural, structural, MEP, fire alarm, and fire protection engineering, along with construction-phase support. We coordinated closely with client stakeholders and contractors to ensure seamless integration with existing operations, delivering efficient, compliant, and reliable facility and process upgrades across the campus.
